Notice anything a little different? I just chopped off almost s-i-x inches of hair – insert scream face emoji. I was feeling a little static and in need of a change, so I headed to my favorite hairdresser [seriously though, if you’re ever in the Boise area, you need to go to Victoria, aka: Tori, at Lunatic Fringe. She is amazing!] and told her I wanted something different and I left the salon 3.5 hours later feeling like a new woman! Isn’t it amazing what a little pampering and a great haircut can do for your outlook on life? I literally and figuratively feel so much lighter and now all my sad and stringy ends are where they belong: in the garbage and off my shoulders.

An unexpected bonus to getting the “mom chop”? Hats and headbands / turbans are so much fun and look completely different!

I am loving this Nakamol Mixed Crystals Coral & Gold Leather Wrap Bracelet that I got in my latest Rocksbox and it’s the perfect accompaniment to this super feminine velvety floral tie headband from RaynaJaye’s etsy shop. Have you checked out Rocksbox yet? It’s an individually customized monthly subscription service for high end designer jewelry for under $20 (!!!) and if you use code ‘shannonbff207’, you can get your first month free (there’s no commitment so you can cancel at any time).

P.S. My boots are Dolce Vita from Nordstrom but the exact same ones are on a killer sale here or if your size is sold out, Sole Society‘s Natasha and Carson are almost identical and are a part of their summer clearance sale.

Do you ever experiment with your hair cut / color? Or do you have a signature look?

  1. love the outfit!! i love that chambray / denim tops go with almost everything. I’ve also been looking for a good pair of white shorts, since they’re also great for mixing and matching. 🙂

  2. The denim and your headband are perfectly cute! I need to start wearing more headbands! And once I have this baby maybe I can fit back into denim again! Haha! Super cute outfit!

  3. I love the outfit (and the headband). I usually keep it really simple with long layers, and about once every 6-7 years I get tired of my long hair and chop it off into an angled bob that I eventually grow out again. Love the cut!

  4. Loving the cut mama!! You look amazing as always!
I miss being more experimental with my hair. I used to mix it up a lot pre-baby but I’m permanently stuck in differing heights of messy buns due to my unsightly postpartum hair loss (the things we do for these kids!). In the few years before sweet Boomer though I went from long and curly, to dreads, to bob, to head hugging curls, to super short curly pixie, and growing it out since baby. One of these days my style will return!!!

    • Danielle you are the SWEETEST! I still have SO much less hair than pre-Hulk – I’m talking like I had at least two to three times the amount I have now, these boys are lucky they’re cute!

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
